Austrian Samaritans support re-building efforts in the Balkans
Posted on |Austrian SAM.I. member ASBÖ has so far distributed about 600 tons of aid materials in the regions that were affected by flood, more will follow. They are working together with local partner organisations and can thus rely on a large network of volunteers to aid in logistics and distribution.
ASBÖ sends aid to small villages in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia that, until recently, had been completely cut off from the outside world. ASBÖ aid convoys from the collection centres in all parts of Austria drove to the affected regions and have thus far distributed 600 tons of aid materials to the people in need. Another team of Austrian Samaritans is in the disaster regions, including one water supply engineer, to get long-term rebuilding efforts going in cooperation with local non-profit organisations.
ASBÖ is still accepting donations to support their aid efforts. For more information visit their website or their facebook page.
