Junior First Responder 2014: International First Aid training for young people
Posted on |The ASB regional association of Bad Windsheim is currently implementing the 2014 round of Junior First Responder, their international project on youth in first aid.
Together with the Romanian Samaritans, who’s membership in SAM.I. is pending, and several other partners, ASB Bad Windsheim has developed a programme that allows youngsters from other countries to take part in first aid training at their medical training center. The Junior First Responder project was also presented at the 2013 SAMARITAN Forum in Berlin.
Depending on the specific course, the project accepts youngsters as young as 12 years, who can be trained as school emergency helpers. More advanced courses are available from 14 or 15 years onwards.
Some advanced courses do not only include training in first aid as such but also educate young people to become junior trainers, who can then act as multipliers.
The first courses started in on June 28 and the last ones for this round of the project will end on September 5. To accommodate the international target group of the project, the courses are held in English, though translation into German or Romanian is possible.
More information on the project is available on the website of ASB Bad Windsheim.
