ASB captures 125 years of history in one photograph
Posted on |For ASB’s 125th anniversary, the history of the organisation was symbolically captured in a photograph. Volunteers and employees from various areas and vehicles from a timespan of more than 100 years posed in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin to demonstrate the motto of the anniversary year: “Times are changing. Our aid remains.”
ASB was founded in 1888 by six carpenters in Berlin. Since then, it has become one of the largest aid- and welfare organisations in Germany, with a total of over one million members and about 50,000 employees and volunteers.
Further festivities in the context of the anniversary year are scheduled to take place on August 23, one day after this year’s SAMARITAN Forum, in Berlin.
