About us
Who is SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL?
The European Union has become more and more significant for politics and the legislative procedures of and in the member states.
Therefore, on 11 August 1994 the following four organisations
- Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Deutschland e.V. (ASB)
- Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Österreichs (ASBÖ)
- Dansk Folkehjaelp (DKFH) and
- Fédération des Secouristes Francais-Croix Blanche (CB)
united to become the international non-governmental organisation SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL e.V.
Today, the organisation consists of 21 member associations in 19 European countries.
The extensive experience and the broad-based know-how of the individual organisations offer an excellent basis for the joint international work. Almost three million members, 150,000 volunteers and 45,000 full-time employees in the different organisations and countries form the basis of the SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL network.
The members contribute their extensive experience in the field of social services, civil protection, rescue services, first-aid training and humanitarian aid abroad to the joint work. The cooperation is also strengthened in disaster prevention and the development of international civil protection systems.
SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL serves to coordinate the activities among each other, to develop new cross-border partnerships and projects, and represents the interests of its members towards the European Union.
